At Dreams Come True Academy, we believe that empowering youth and strengthening our community starts with the dedication and passion of people like you. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities where you can make a meaningful impact while contributing to our programs and events.
Volunteer Opportunities
1. Program Support
- Tutoring & Homework Help: Assist students in our afterschool enrichment programs with their academic needs, helping them build strong foundations in subjects like math, reading, and science.
- Basketball Training Support: Help coach and mentor young athletes in our basketball programs. Whether you’re assisting with drills, organizing equipment, or motivating the kids, your involvement makes a difference.
- Mentorship: Become a positive role model by guiding and encouraging our youth. Our mentorship programs connect volunteers with students seeking support in academics, personal development, and career readiness.
- Technology Support: Help students and staff with basic tech needs, such as computer troubleshooting, setting up presentations, and maintaining digital resources for our programs.
2. Event Support
- Community Events: Assist with the planning, setup, and execution of our annual events, such as the MLK Day Community Day, Fall Festival, Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, and Winter Wonderland Toy Giveaway. Volunteers are essential to ensuring these events run smoothly and reach as many people as possible.
- Fundraising Events: Support our gala, conferences, and other fundraising initiatives by helping with event logistics, guest registration, silent auctions, and more.
3. Nonprofit Operations
- Administrative Support: Assist with day-to-day tasks such as data entry, managing program schedules, organizing files, and ensuring our operations run smoothly behind the scenes.
- Front Desk Support: Greet visitors, answer phone calls, assist with inquiries, and help create a welcoming environment for families, staff, and partners.
- Marketing & Outreach: Help spread the word about our programs, events, and initiatives by assisting with social media content, flyer distribution, and community engagement efforts.
4. Specialized Skills
- Grant Writing: If you have experience in fundraising or grant writing, we could use your expertise to secure additional funding for our programs.
- Photography & Videography: Capture the magic of our events and programs through photos and videos that help us share our story with the community.
- Program Development: Collaborate with our team to develop new initiatives and programs that align with our mission of empowering youth.
